Colmont Opera Glasses 1800s Paris Mother Of Pearl & Abalone Binoculars Theater Glasses
This is a gorgeous antique pair of Colmont & Geivroz Paris abalone and mother of pearl opera or theater glasses. A fabulous pair of binoculars from the late 1800's.
The glasses are in excellent condition, with no damage to the mother of pearl. They also have the mother of pearl on the shaft extensions, as well as mother of pearl around the eye pieces.
The only issue we can find is some wear to the black enamel around the top edge of each lens, and some slight tarnish to the brass. The mother of pearl is perfect; what looks like scratches is just the way the light is reflecting....not damage.
The brass base does have the owners name engraved "Clara V. Stallman".
They measure 4 inches in width, and are 3 inches in height when fully extended.
The lens's are in great condition, with no cracks, chips or scratches; and the fly wheel action is smooth.
A fabulous pair of opera glasses to add to your antique vignette or use at the opera.
The coloration of these glasses is stunning; our photos don't do them justice.
They come with a purple felt pouch with gold trim and drawstring cord.
