This is a lovely antique very early 1900's soldered German silver soldered mesh Whiting & Davis flapper style purse.
The piece is hallmarked inside A M Co. GERMAN SILVER MADE IN U.S.A. Along with the very early metal tag WHITING & DAVIS CO. MESH BAGS REG. US & Canada
It measures approximately 6 7/8 inches by 3 1/2 inches, not including the mesh handle.
The frame is German silver with a lovely engraved deco design on the front and back of the frame. It has a blue sapphire gemstone set in the clasp.
The piece is in excellent condition, but does have two very tiny holes , they are very hard to see, and do not effect the look or use of the bag. When displayed the holes can not be seen.
The wristlet is a woven metal mesh that is approximately 6 inches in length, and in good condition.
It's a very fine and delicate mesh; and an unusual and charming antique flapper bag to add to your collection.
