Vintage Elgin American 1930s Compact Powder & Rouge Art Deco Butterfly
This is a gorgeous rare vintage 1930's Art Deco Elgin American gold tone round powder and rouge compact in excellent condition.
The lid has a lovely etched striped pattern, with a tiny "Coat of Arms" and a butterfly below that.
The edge of the compact has a beautiful and intricate repousse design.
It opens with a push of a button and features a mirror, with only very slight haze around the edge.
The piece has two separate compartments, one for powder with the original sifter net and hallmarked powder puff, and a hinged lid that opens to reveal the cream rouge, that still remains.
This piece measures 2 inches in diameter, and is 1/2 inch in depth.
The piece is in excellent condition, with only extremely slight scuffing. Any red marks are reflections from our camera, not any damage to the piece.
All hinges and closures work perfectly, and this piece has no dents, dings, rust or corrosion.
This is a really heavy and well made compact, and would make a terrific addition to any vanity or compact collection.
