Evans Compact 1910s Dance Purse Powder Mirror And Rouge Wristlet
This is a really lovely antique circa 1910's Evans powder, rouge and mirror compact dance purse with wristlet chain.
It's beautiful hammered design is silver on the top and bottom of the piece, with a gold washed interior. It also has a blank cartouche to have your initials engraved.
The edges on both the top and bottom of the compact have a repousse design; and the piece has a hook style closure that works well to keep the compact closed securely.
It opens to a clean gold wash interior with an oval mirror that is in wonderful condition, as well as a powder compartment with powder plate with some original powder remaining; also has a powder plate for rouge with a small amount remaining.
It has a pretty little blue trimmed powder puff that fits in over the powder compartment.
The piece also has a fold down holder for a small comb, but the comb is no longer present.
It is hallmarked on the comb holder "EVANS NICKEL SILVER".
The purse measures approximately 3 1/4 inches in length, not including the chain and closure, and is about 2 inches in width and 1/2 inch in depth. The closure adds another 1/2 inch to the purse.
It's in overall great condition, with only very slight wear. No dents, dings, rust or corrosion. Displays beautifully and would make a wonderful addition to any vintage collection.
