Langlois Shari Compact Silver And Gold In Original Silk Box Extremely Rare
A stunning and extremely rare Langlois Shari vintage Art Nouveau powder and rouge compact that comes with the beautiful silk covered original box.
It's a silver metal with a gold plated bonsai tree scene on the lid. The bottom of the piece is silver with the same engraved scene.
The piece has some tarnish to the silver inside and out, but is still absolutely gorgeous.
It opens to a powder plate with only slight traces of the original powder, as well as the original powder puff. Lift up the double sided metal mirror to reveal the rouge and original rouge puff.
The double sided metal mirror is in good condition with only a tiny bit of haze.
The original box has a painted silk lid that shows some slight signs of age, but is still extremely attractive, and opens to a green velvet lining. It's in wonderful condition considering it's age.
The compact is hallmarked "Langlois, New York" on the back; and has the name of the compact toward the bottom of the lid; which is "Shari"; which could refer to the deadwood bonsai plant that appears to be featured on the compact.
