Italian Sterling Silver Lipstick Mirror Case Vintage Lipstick Holder Carnelian Clasp Circa 1900s
Here is a pretty early 1900's vintage 800 silver lipstick compact case or holder with a flip-up mirror and carnelian cabochon clasp.
800 silver refers to the amount of silver content in the piece; and was used quite frequently in the late 1800's and very early 1900's. It's in excellent condition and works as it should.
It's beautifully decorated with an ornately engraved design as can be seen in our photos. The mirror has a ever so slight amount of silver loss at the edges, as you would expect from a piece this old; but still very useable. No chips or cracks.
The carnelian cabochon stone is used to push your lipstick up in the tube, and also holds the mirror closed when you slide it into the case.
