Soldered Silver Mesh Purse Antique Victorian Purse 1920's Formal Evening Bag Wedding Bridal
This is a lovely antique early 1920's soldered silver mesh Victorian purse with a tassel.
It has a blue sapphire gemstone set in the clasp, as well as a pretty little tassel that is intact.
The piece is hallmarked on the inside of the frame with "Soldered Link". It also has a bird hallmark on the inside frame near the clasp. It most probably is an early makers hallmark.
The exterior of the frame has a lovely engraved ornate design on the front of the purse.
The piece is in very good condition, with no signs of soiling or other damage to the fine mesh. The little etched tassel also is in excellent condition, with no missing chain; which is very rare.
The piece is 6 1/2 inches in length from the top of the purse to the bottom, not including the tassel; which adds an additional 2 inches. It is approximately 6 inches at the widest point, which is at the bottom of the purse.
The wristlet is a woven metal mesh that is approximately 7 inches in length. The wristlet does have some wear near where it meets the purse frame, which can be seen in our photos. It still is a functional wristlet despite the wear.
