Victorian Jewel Compact Purse May Fair Silver Guilloche Red & Green Stones Finger Ring
This is a very rare and lovely silver, guilloche and jeweled powder and rouge Victorian compact purse with finger ring.
The ornate lid of the compact purse is stunning. It features a gorgeous lilac enamel guilloche medallion with a hand painted floral design. Surrounding that is a very ornate design with red and green glass rhinestones.
The compact opens to a powder plate style compartment on the bottom, with what appears to be the original used powder puff, and some powder remaining. The top has a mirror that could use replacing; it is broken, but we will leave that up to the new owner, as some want these pieces to be unaltered. It's an easy fix, as the frame around the mirror can easily be removed to pop out the old mirror and replace with a new one. It also has the original rouge powder plate, as well as the rouge powder puff.
The piece also has a gorgeous bar and link chain with a lovely repousse patterned ring attached.
It's a wonderful and unique piece. We haven't seen many of these in our travels, so it's another very unique find to add to your vintage vanity collection.
