1900s Gold Filled Terri Compact Purse Diamond Marcasite Adornment
This is a gorgeous gold filled compact wristlet purse from the early 1900's. It has a lovely engine turned design with a diamond shaped sparkling marcasite adornment on the front of the purse.
It is an absolutely stunning piece, with no hallmarks on the compact, but the Terri stamp is in the rouge. It opens by gently pressing on the center near the edge of the lid, which is spring loaded, and opens the purse. It measures approximately 3 1/2 inches in length by 2 1/4 inches in width by about 3/4 of an inch in thickness. The intricate bar and link chain measures 8 1/2 inches in total length.
When opened the purse reveals a very clear square framed glass mirror, as well as a compartment behind that, which would have held cigarettes or cash. The other side houses the solid powder and rouge compartments, as well as a beautiful engine turned lipstick case. The piece comes complete with original solid powder, rouge and both of the powder puffs, as well as bright red lipstick.
It's in beautiful preowned condition with only very minimal wear, as pictured in our photos. No serious damage to note.
