Antique French Gold Compact Blue Stones Late 1800's
This is a pretty late 1800's French antique gold tone powder compact with an ornate design that is really lovely. It has blue and white enameling, as well as beautiful blue accent jewels. It is missing the mirror inside the lid, but one can easily be installed, as it has a metal frame that can be removed to replace with a new mirror. It has no missing jewels or enamel, but does have some light age wear to the pale gold tone metal exterior and a gold tone interior with a powder plate. In our photos it appears more silver than it actually is. It is a pale gold color. We found no hallmarks as to the origin of this piece, but it appears similar to others we've sold from France. The piece measures approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter. It comes in an organza drawstring pouch for gifting.
