19th Century French Jeweled Portrait Cigarette Case Extremely Rare Cigarette Box
This is an extremely rare 19th Century French cigarette case or box in excellent condition. It is adorned with blue stones, a central mother of pearl medallion with a beautiful hand painted portrait that is surrounded by gold and enamel accents. It has wonderful gold ormolu accents, as well as enamel touches of blue and green. All the side edges have a lovely textured repousse; and the box opens and closes as it should, with a good tight closure. It has two white elastic bands to hold your smokes in place. The piece measures approximately 3 inches in length by 2 1/4 inches in width. It is hallmarked in the interior "Made In France".
