$ 159.99

This is a very lovely and intricate antique 1920's silver plated wedding powder and mirror compact by Karess Woodworth.

This compact was invented by Anker S. Lyhne who was better known for inventing the Lyhne Lamp in the 20's. He filed his patent for this compact on July 19. 1922, but he had to wait 4 years the patent was finally issued on January 19. 1926.

The piece features a wedding bell engraved motif on the lid.

A swing clasp opens to reveal a powder compartment with the original solid powder and the original powder puff that has the same design as the lid.

It also has a mirror with a slight amount of haze.

The piece is hallmarked below the mirror with "Karess", "New York Paris", as well as "Woodworth".
