$ 149.99

This is a very lovely and intricate silver Plated Karess Woodworth powder and rouge compact from the 1920's.

This compact was invented by Anker S. Lyhne who was better known for inventing the Lyhne Lamp in the 20's. He filed his patent for this compact on July 19. 1922, but he had to wait 4 years the patent was finally issued on January 19. 1926.

The piece features an embossed flower and scroll motif on the top and bottom, as well as on the interior lift up mirror; with only slight tarnish that enhances the lovely pattern.

A swing clasp opens to reveal a clean powder compartment, if you lift the lid inside you find a glass mirror and rouge and puff compartment.

The piece is hallmarked around the edge of the mirror "Karess", "New York Paris", as well as "Woodworth".  The compact measures approximately 2 inches in length by 1 3/4 inches in width closed.

The piece is in great condition, with no dents, dings, rust or corrosion.  Please check out our other vintage compacts and vanity collectible items.
